Touring magnificent landscapes and medieval landmarks, this coastal cruise calls at charismatic towns, and takes the ‘back to Nature’ routes to uninhabited islands and peaceful national parks, revealing the secret scenic splendour of Croatia’s untamed interior

Overview

On a private Jules Verne cruise aboard the elegant MV Admiral, your journey into Croatia’s cultural heritage and natural beauty combines coast with country, and four UNESCO World Heritage sites with three unique national parks. The tour begins in vibrant Split, the first of its UNESCO sites, where modern life is lived within ancient architecture, and seafront strolling grounds are studded with palm trees. A short sail north of here, the first port of call is the tiny island of Trogir, the labyrinthine lanes of its old town linked by bridge to the mainland. Krka is the first of the national parks, spreading east from the shore to the mountains in a medley of monasteries, gorges and waterfalls. Following on its heels, in sharp contrast, Kornati National Park is a magical marine environment of reefs and islets, cliffs and grottoes, starkly white against the blue of the sea; while Plitvice Lakes, a National Park with UNESCO status, has canyons, karst rocks, and cascades from sixteen lakes. Punctuating this perfect trio are visits to Sibenik, its 16th century cathedral the jewel in its Old Town crown; to Etno Selo for wine-tasting; and to Zadar’s myriad monuments – ancient, medieval, and modern.
