View All Dates & BookWilderness, woodlands and wildlife are the backdrop for this superb safari, from Namibia’s famous National Parks to its lush, less travelled Zambezi strip, to huge herds of elephants by Botswana’s Chobe River, and the fabulous finale of Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls
Overview
Wildlife-watching by road, river and rough tracks, and bringing a whole new perspective to Namibian discovery, this eye-opening journey begins in the 13,000 hectares of wilderness of Kifaru Reserve. A private retreat, committed to rhino conservation, its name means ‘Rhino’ in Swahili – and the conservation of these critically endangered animals is at the heart of the Kifaru ethos.
With everything from lions and leopards to rhinos and flocks of flamingos, Etosha National Park boasts birds and beasts in abundance. And then the road takes you to the incomparable Zambezi strip. Now known as the Zambezi region, this is Namibia’s remote northern reaches, running eastward to, and beyond, the Botswana border; where flood plains and waterfalls punctuate the snaking flows of the Kwando and Okavango rivers; hippos and crocs rendezvous at Rundu; Mahango is home to magnificent baobabs; and the region is renowned for its birdlife, with clustered colonies of carmine bee-eaters among the 500+ indigenous and migratory species
Claiming the world’s largest population of elephants, the award-winning Chobe National Park is known as ‘the land of giants’ – and is aptly followed on this tour by a giant among natural wonders, the breathtaking cascade of Victoria Falls.
