Why choose a holiday in Vietnam?
Vietnam is a collage of culture and character. Mixing ancient and modern, you'll find sleepy villages near cities that never sleep. With the help of our expert tour guides, you can embrace the chaos of the country and experience the famously warm Vietnamese hospitality.
On our tours of Vietnam, expect stunning landscapes, bustling markets, ancient temples and delicious street food. All while learning about Vietnam's complicated history.
Thomas, Product Manager for Vietnam, explains:
"Vietnam is an exciting mix of breathtaking landscapes, rich culture and timeless traditions. It’s a country where every corner reveals a story, whether it’s in the ancient streets of Hanoi or the serene waters of Ha Long Bay. For those seeking a trip that blends history, stunning scenery and simply divine street food, Vietnam is a destination that – in my experience – never disappoints."
When to go on Vietnam holidays
In general, the climate of Hanoi and the northern highlands is hot, rainy and humid from May to October, cooler and dry between November and April, and can be quite chilly in December/January. The south is usually warm and wet in May to October (with high rainfall June-August), hot and dry in November-April. And the central region saves the rain for autumn months, but is hot right through from February, with temperatures peaking at 40° in the summer.
With departures in January to May and September to November, Jules Verne’s Vietnam and Indochina tours are planned for the best times in their regions, and avoid the uncomfortable June-August months.
How do our escorted group tours to Vietnam work?
Our guided tour holidays in Vietnam have an average of 10-16 people. This means you'll enjoy a much more intimate experience, and meet like-minded individuals as you make memories together in this wonderful country.
We always recommend travelling in smaller groups. This is so you get to know your local guide, get answers to all your burning questions and bypass the inconveniences of being in a large group. Our small group tours mean you spend less time waiting and more time making unforgettable memories.
What destinations do you cover as part of your Vietnam group tours?
With our Vietnam escorted tour packages, you can explore everything from Ha Long Bay to Hanoi and the Highlands.
If you choose our tour of Ha Long Bay & The Red River, you'll sail past the misted mountains on small but luxurious ships. Here, you'll discover thousands of islands and islets scattered in the South China Sea. Some are little more than limestone pillars topped with rainforest – others are larger and hemmed with beaches. You can see them all as you cruise the emerald waters through the UNESCO-protected National Park.
Alternatively, you can explore the Red River – crucial for agriculture and fisheries but also extremely beautiful. With our tours, you'll drift past floating fishing shacks and jutting bamboo jetties as you breathe in the beauty of the riverscapes of Northern Vietnam.
If spectacular scenery is what you're looking for, choose a tour that drops by the provincial town of Ninh Binh. With its karst peaks and clifftop pagoda, lush valleys and boat floats in the caves of Tam Coc, it's an unforgettable sight.
Our tours cover the Mekong ‘Nine Dragons’ Delta, too. A riot of flora and fauna, you'll find swan-like serenity on the surface. But don't be fooled – this region is Vietnam's most productive. Here, water buffalo are in their element while rivers and streams form crucial waterways to towns, villages and temples.
Our Vietnam tours cover the Perfume River, too. As a seat of Nguyen royalty and a centre of culture, you'll see modern towers contrasting with the vast UNESCO-listed citadel. On one of our tours, you'll stop by the one-time trading port of Hoi An. An architectural portrait of its past, you'll be free to gaze in wonder at the Chinese temples, French colonial buildings and Vietnamese ‘tube houses’.
Camilla, Product Executive, here at Jules Verne discusses her own experience of Ha Long Bay & the Red River:
"It was a memorable trip, and I was grateful to experience the 5-star hospitality of Pandaw staff, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. The RV Angkor Pandaw is finished in brass and teakwood and although the cabins are comfortable and spacious, I spent most of my time out on deck watching life along the river.
It is a wonderful way to see the authentic villages around the various rivers on the Red River Delta while meeting unique people. We travelled from west to east along the 610kms of alluring landscape, visiting villages full of art and culture, monasteries and of course Hanoi. There were two excursions on most days, one after breakfast and one after lunch visiting various sites along the river. Evenings were more relaxed when we sat on sofas or sun loungers on the top deck and enjoyed the sunset before our evening cocktails.
The UNESCO World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay was the highlight of my trip; it has a mythical Dragon folklore and was so peaceful and serene that it felt like I had entered an altogether different world."
